  1. Charters are all smoke and mirrors. The charters cherry pick the kids and kick out low performers in a scam called attrition after October when budgets are set so they keep the $ and pass on costs to the public school. The teachers do not make enough , that is why 85% of them work 2nd and third jobs or why many have left the district and there are so many openings..Teachers have no control who they have in their classroom. I am sure if you switched teachers from Eastside and Wayne Hills , the Eastside teacher would have a great performance rating while the Wayne Hills teacher would cry and quit the 1st day. Also Charter schools tend to get kids whose parents are involved enough to go through the application process. How many Paterson parents work nights or 2-3 jobs and come home too exhausted to help their kids with their homework..what about all the teen moms and the scum bags who have no business being parents and their kids suffer? Charters are a money grab plain and simpleif they were so great as you say why arent white towns clamoring for them?
